Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!
Psalm 96:3
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. "Every shoebox gift is an opportunity to touch a child's heart with the love of Jesus Christ."
—Franklin Graham, President, Samaritan's Purse

Jesus’ Joy to All!

The message of Zechariah 8 is summed up by the Lord’s words in verse 13: “I will save you that you may become a blessing.” God’s people are blessed to be a blessing to others. God pours out His grace on us so that we in turn can share it with others. Operation Christmas Child is a way that we can give from our abundance to help those around the world that have little or nothing.

Operation Christmas Child is a service project that the families of Crean Lutheran High School have been a part of for many, many years. We encouraging our students, teams, clubs, families, faculty/staff, and other groups to come together and intentionally bless children in need. If you would like to request boxes, please come to Room J100, or email YOU MAY PACK AS MANY AS YOU ARE ABLE! Please note that Samaritan’s Purse asks for $9 per box to cover the cost of shipping, and you may put cash at the top of the box or in a separate envelope to be collected.

FOR THOSE THAT WOULD LIKE TO USE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A LIFE GROUP OR OTHER GROUP/TEAM SERVICE OPPORTUNITY: We’ve put together an easy organizational form to use as a signup sheet for your group based on ten shoeboxes. We recommend using Wednesday, November 7 as the service day for Life Groups, since November 14 is our campus Saints Alive Bible project during Life Groups.

We ask that you be INTENTIONAL in your packing efforts. Ask for volunteers to pray out loud over the boxes, allowing the students or family members to all be focused on it (some groups may want to lay their hands on the boxes, while others may just want to bow their heads...whichever works best for your group).

Once the boxes are packed, marked, and prayed over, please send a few students to place them in the SLT room (J100) by Friday, November 16. You may want to take note of the tracking info so that you can track your boxes! Please put the money for shipping into a separate envelope and give to Mrs. May. Any extra donations may be placed in tubs at the front desk that will be available from November 12th through November 15th.

Thank you for helping us with this annual tradition. I pray that those taking part in this opportunity to serve grow closer as they work together to serve others!

In Christ Alone,

Mrs. Shannon May,

Activities Director
