Crean Lutheran Summer Athletic and Academic Youth Camps

Crean Lutheran Youth Camps are designed to provide an exciting experience for elementary and intermediate students. The focus of the program is to help students enhance their skills, gain confidence, and build Christian character. These camps are offered to all local youth and are held at Crean Lutheran High School. They are conducted by CLHS's caring Christian teachers and coaches. All skill levels are welcome. Each camp is $150 unless a materials fee is listed.
ACADEMIC CO-ED CAMPS
Arts & Crafts: June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 15-19 from 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00-4:00pm. Grades K-6
Kids will explore the world of art by making fun functional crafts and will learn age appropriate art skills like painting and drawing. An additional $15 materials fee is required.
Robotics: June 17-21, July 8-12, July 29-August 2 offered in the afternoon. Grades 6-8
Students will design, build, and program their own robots to solve a simple engineering problem. Students will work with the same materials that our high school robotics team uses from the VEX Robotics Program.
Writing: June 24-28, July 15-19 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
This camp will give students an opportunity to participate in fun and engaging activities to improve both creative and academic writing. Students will work on organizing essays and composing thesis statements, in addition to collaborating with peers on poetry and short stories.
Chinese: July 8-12, July 15-19 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
This course follows the natural process of learning a language, just like how we learned our mother language, which is completely different from the traditional way of language learning.
Beginning Sewing: July 8-12, July 15-19 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
Students will learn hand stitching and how to use a sewing machine. Each student will make a needle book, felt purse, doll size quilt, and coasters. $40 materials fee.
BOYS & GIRLS ATHLETIC CAMPS
Archery: June 17-21 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 4-8
Nothing beats the feeling of hitting a bullseye. Coach Jennings, who is a National Archery in Schools Program certified instructor, will help any level of archer gain great knowledge and love for the sport.
Track & Field: June 24-28 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 4-8
This camp will introduce young athletes to the sport as well as help experienced track and field athletes improve their skills in as many events as they would like! The track and field youth camp is held on a nine-lane, all-weather track.
Tennis: July 15-19 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
The camp will consist of the following tennis drills: serving, groundstrokes, volleys, overheads, footwork, and competitive match play.
Songs & Spirit: July 22-26 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades K-8
This camp will teach turns, jumps, leaps, motion technique, sideline routines, and dance technique. Students will learn a half-time performance routine.
Lacrosse: July 22-26 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 3-8
Players of all skill levels will develop individual techniques such as throwing, catching, shooting, cradling, ground ball skills, and offensive and defensive techniques. Loaner equipment is available in limited quantities.
Volleyball: July 29-August 2 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 3-8
This camp will focus on skills, drills, and game-like situations, all of which are critical to volleyball player development.
BOYS ATHLETIC CAMPS
Basketball: June 17-21 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 3-8
Players will develop their skills in a competitive and fun environment. Players will also increase their knowledge of the game while learning the importance of a team-first approach.
Soccer: June 17-21 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 3-8
Players will develop their soccer technique and tactics through a variety of fun drills, scrimmages, and activities. Players will also learn how to integrate faith and athletics, striving to be their best for God's glory.
Football: Grades 5-8
First Camp: Friday, June 28 from 6:00-8:00pm & Saturday, June 29 from 9:00am-5:00pm.
Second Camp: Friday, July 5 from 6:00-8:00pm & Saturday, July 6 from 9:00am-5:00pm.
This is a non-contact camp that will focus on individual skill development, proper technique and safety, competitive drills, flag football scrimmages, and an introduction to the Saints Football program.
Baseball: July 8-12 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
Players will learn new skills and develop their fundamentals of baseball, all while learning to work hard and have fun.
GIRLS ATHLETIC CAMPS
Soccer: June 24-28 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 3-8
Players will learn correct techniques as they participate in drills and games. Players will have opportunities to win prizes throughout the week.
Cheer: Stunts & Tumbling: June 24-28 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades K-8
This camp is designed for young athletes looking to improve their cheerleading skills for the sideline or competition cheer. Coaches will focus on stunts, pyramids, jumps, and tumbling.
Basketball: July 8-12 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 3-8
This will be a fun and competitive week expanding each girl's basketball skills. It will be a great opportunity to build relationships and work with the Crean Lutheran basketball program.
PERFORMING ARTS CO-ED CAMPS
Voice Lessons: June 17-21 from 9:00am-12:00pm & 1:00-4:00pm. June 24-28 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
Students will learn healthy vocal techniques, will build confidence to sing in front of an audience, and will perform musical pieces in a recital at the end of the week.
Musical Theater: June 17-21 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
Students will learn songs, dances, and lines from popular musical theater pieces. Students in the course will work as a team to create a jukebox musical performance at the end of the week.
Glee Performance: June 17-21 from 1:00-4:00pm. July 8-12 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades K-4
This is an introductory camp for performers who want to be on stage. Students will practice singing, acting, and dancing skills to prepare for auditions. There will be a showcase at the end of the week.
Hip Hop: June 24-28, July 8-12 from 1:00-4:00pm. Grades 5-8
Students will learn cutting edge choreography from a top hip hop choreographers in orange county. Students will learn basic styles of hip hop such as tutting, breaking, locking, boogaloo, and popping. There will be a showcase at the end of the week.
Ballet: June 24-28 from 9:00am - 12:00pm, Grades K-4. July 29-August 2 from 9:00am-12:00pm, Grades 5-8
Students will learn basic positions of the arms and legs. Students will use the positions learned in progressions across the floor. A recital will be performed at the end of the week.
Beginning Guitar & Drums: July 8-12 from 9:00am-12:00pm. Grades 5-8
Students will learn the basics of strumming, properly holding drumming sticks, and will learn 4/4 and 6/8 beats. Students must bring their own guitar. Drums and sticks will be provided.
Jazz Dance: July 15-19 from 9:00am-12:00pm, Grades 5-8. 1:00-4:00pm Grades K-4
Dancers will work on technique and increasing flexibility. Along with learning fun progressions for across the floor and work on jumps, leap, turns, and kicks. Students will have a mini showcase at the end of the week.
Fairytale Dance: July 22-26 from 1:00-4:00pm. Grades K-4
In this “fairytale-themed” dance camp, students will learn jazz, hip hop, ballet, tap, and musical theater. Each day is themed from "under the sea" to "Frozen Day" with fun games and activities. There will be a showcase at the end of the camp and special guest appearances throughout the week.
