Crean Lutheran Meets the UC A-G Entrance Requirements: Crean Lutheran High School offers a myriad of courses which exceed UC A-G requirements. Each year, CLHS works to add more courses to the already extensive list of UC A-G approved courses. For a current listing of Crean Lutheran's UC A-G approved courses, visit the University of California A-G Guide.
Advanced Placement/Honors Courses: Crean Lutheran currently offers 18 AP courses and 21 Honors courses.
Dual Credit Courses: Crean Lutheran has partnered with local and national colleges and universities (Concordia University, Irvine and Concordia University, Seward) to provide students with increased rigor and further opportunities for academic growth. CLHS professors teach courses which are reviewed by colleges for rigor and scope. Students in these courses have the option to pay for college credits through those universities we partner with and earn both CLHS and college credit.
Honors and Recognition: Each spring, CLHS administration will select the top two academicians to represent the senior class as Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Honor Roll is divided into three levels and based on a student’s weighted academic GPA. Recognition on the Dean’s List requires a GPA between 3.80 and 4.24; Principal’s Honor Roll requires a GPA between 4.25 and 4.49; and Distinguished Scholar requires a GPA of 4.50 or higher. The appropriate Honor Roll acknowledgement is included on the student’s transcript. CLHS also participates in the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) as well as the National Honor Society (NHS).
Technology: Crean Lutheran integrates technology into the curriculum and the instructional methodology. Students learn how to use technology both in terms of being competent in the commonly used business and educational software programs, and through immersion in online and blended learning experiences.
