Crean Lutheran High School Faculty and Staff

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. James 3:1

We will not hide God’s Truths from our children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, His power, and the wonders he has done... so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. 7 Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. Psalm 78:4-7

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4

All of the teaching faculty and administrative staff – including part-time teachers, staff and coaches -- at Crean Lutheran are dedicated and witnessing Christians who subscribe to the importance and truth of the above verses, and who subscribe to high Christian code of ethics and moral lifestyle.

Crean Lutheran expects teachers to be credentialed or hold at least a Master’s Degree to ensure excellence in instruction and effectiveness in student learning.

CLHS is a Professional Learning Community.  In order to ensure and model a love of life-long learning, Crean Lutheran High School has built into its weekly schedule a dedicated time for Collaborative Team Meetings to meet, to learn, to grow in effectiveness, and to stay at the forefront of effective instructional methodology and technology to ensure the best learning environment and experience for our students.

Three to four times each month, the entire teaching faculty meets for 1 hour and 20 minutes in a formal and structures continuing education setting for the purpose of learning and excelling in teaching that results in the best possible student learning.

Once a month, Crean Lutheran holds an “online learning day.”  On this day, due to our 21st century web-based curriculum model (and extremely rare among high schools and even colleges), students have a learning day “off campus.”

  • Students can go to a library, study at home, or work on collaborative educational classes with classmates either at each other’s homes or via an Internet connection.
  • Crean Lutheran’s faculty, on these full days, meets on campus in a formal setting deepening their understanding and ability be excellent teachers for our students.
All of our teachers teach “not for a contract, but as a Calling.”  Lutheran teachers have a “called” status in the Lutheran Church and see their vocations as a “calling” from the Lord.  Therefore, our teachers teach their students as a pastor shepherds his congregation, caring for the whole person’s development – academically, spiritually, physically, and socially.

“Somebody’s got to be crazy about that kid!”   (Dr. Urie Bronfenbrenner, Cornell University)  This quote by Dr. Bronfenbrenner undergirds a healthy nested environment, which is partnered with parents, churches, and the community.  Crean Lutheran High School’s teachers and staff are “crazy about our kids (students, your children)!”  That passionate care, concern, prayer, pursuit of excellence and best practices all combine to make Crean Lutheran an exceptional place of learning and growing.
