“Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth--everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” — Isaiah 43:6-7.
We believe that children
  • are created by God as unique individuals with gifts and characteristics determined by Him.
  • are equally valued by God regardless of physical, mental, social, or emotional characteristics.
  • are born in sin and in need of the salvation which Christ has won for them on the cross.
  • are in need of instruction in the Holy Scriptures, exposure to the Means of Grace, and the power of the Holy Spirit to live God-pleasing lives which honor Him and serve others.
  • are in need of instruction in the various disciplines of learning including, but not limited to, language arts, mathematics, the sciences, social studies, fine arts, physical education, foreign languages, service learning, technology, and health.
  • are given to parents to be primarily responsible for their nurture and care and to entrust a portion of the responsibility for such nurture and care to trained and dedicated professional educators.
  • are entitled to be treated with respect as valued children of God and provided with an education that meets their developmental, spiritual, academic, social, physical, and emotional needs.

We believe that children learn best
  • in an environment of acceptance, love, and safety.
  • through active participation in their instruction and by having the opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice.
  • when taught by teachers who are knowledgeable in their subject matter and role models for Christian faith and life.
  • in an environment in which Law and Gospel are rightly divided and applied, but which emphasizes a Gospel-centered atmosphere in which students and staff live by the forgiveness of sins freely bestowed by Christ their Savior and shared with each other by word and deed.
  • in a diverse setting in which students of all races, cultures, and abilities are encouraged and valued.
  • when teachers and parents work cooperatively together with mutual respect for the benefit of the student.

We believe that a Lutheran school should
  • teach from a Christian world view and in the light of eternity, integrating the faith into all areas of instruction.
  • provide a Gospel centered atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • provide clear instruction in the Word of God as revealed in the Holy Scriptures and offer opportunities for worship, prayer, and participation in the Means of Grace.
  • provide appropriate instruction in all the educational disciplines for students with a wide variety of abilities and learning styles within the range of those able to function in a normal school setting�fostering success among students for whom learning comes easily and among those with learning disabilities. ...equip students to be life-long learners and to develop their own God-given gifts and talents.
  • maintain a safe and developmentally appropriate environment in which learning can take place and in which evidence of the Christian faith is apparent.
  • provide exemplary faithful Christian teachers and staff who model a God-pleasing lifestyle and excellence in instruction, performance, and service.
  • provide a curriculum which employs best practices in education and is based on valid and current educational research.
  • provide opportunities for building supportive relationships among students for mutual support and strength.
  • provide opportunities for extra-curricular and co-curricular learning including athletics, fine arts, and academic competitions.
  • work with parents in the education of students and provide opportunities for parent education.
  • set clear expectations for teachers, staff, parents, and students.
  • function as a workshop in Christian learning and practice.
  • welcome a diverse community of learners and value all contributions from all students.
  • be an arm of Christian mission and ministry to students and their families, witnessing to the faith to those who are not already Christians and building up those who are.
